NAVA NIDHI'S

NAVA NIDHI'S Kubera's depict the Vayu bhootam, out of the panchbhootam. As suggested by my friend Ravichandran Kp both(Padma Nidhi & Shankha Nidhi) form a part of the Nava Nidhis, acquiring which one gets satvik wealth for seven generations. One has practice PADMINI VIDYA to acquire Nidhis. The Hanuman chalisa mentions the Ashthasiddhi & Navanidhis and defines Hanuman as the bestower of Siddhis and Nidhis ( Verse 31)   Kubera's on either side of the entrance to the temple. PANCHA NARI TURAGA & NAVANARI KUNJARA

PANCHAVARNEESHWARAR TEMPLE - URAIYUR - TAMILNADU. A very odd & unique representation of an Elephant & a Horse, with female figurines. Is it the sculpturer's imagination or does it have some significance. These elements are mentioned in texts Called Vajikarana. These are Navanari Kunjara and Pancha Nari Turaga depicting elephant with 9 female & Horse with 5 female figurines.

BHOOMADEVI

BHOOMADEVI   1. Prithu chasing Prithivi in the form of a cow, to enhance fertility of earth, to save his people from famine. Thus the cow could be Prithvi the daughter of Prithu. 2. In the Ramayana, Devi Sita is said to be the daughter of Prithvi or Bhumadevi & is accepted in her folds by Bhumadevi in the end and given salvation. The name Sita is derived from Sanskrit, which means the line drawn through a plough. ( Hal = in Hindi). This sculpture could be Bhoomadevi in the form of the cow accepting her daughter Sita. PANCHAGNI

PANCHAGNI. This could be the representation of the Panchagni vidya. The cow could be the sacred cow Vasa.Parjanya or Varuna also is sometimes represented as the Rain bull controlled by Indra. Chandogya Upanishad tells how King Pravahana taught sage Gautama the Panchagni Vidya, knowledge of the five fires. The first fire is Svargaloka or Heaven. Second Parjanya or Rains. The third is Bhoomi. The fourth is Purusha or Man. The fifth is Prakriti or Naari or woman. The yogi in the left corner in all probability is Parjanya himself.
