KAVISWARAR TEMPLE - KRISHNAGIRI TOWN -TAMILNADU Kavishwarar - Shiva of the Cave. In Tamilnadu's Krishnagiri town, in the Old Peta area, under the Krishnagiri Fort is the temple of Lord Shiva as Kaviswa rar( God of the cave). Kavi = Cave & Ishwar = God . Krishnagiri Fort in the background. Mahadev is in the form of a lingam of about 4 ft. The Avudayar or Pindika is square in nature. The lord is facing east and his Consort Parvathi is known as Girijambal is in a sanctum next to him on his left hand side facing east. Earlier known as Chandrasekharan & Paravatavardhini. Devi Parvathi as Parvathavarthini Mahadev as Kavishwarar It is a cave temple and has a Mukhamandapam of 12X15 ft.The Mukhamandapam   to the Garbhagriha of the Lord sitting majestically along with his consort to his left facing east. DYNASAUR IN TEMPLE. Did our Ancestors know about Dinosaur's or the Jurassic Age. What was the source of their knowledge, of a period 65 million years ago. Did they have archeologist or was it revealed to them? Between the 11th and 17th Century CE was built the Temple of Sri Kailasanathar in Tharamangalam in Salem District by the local chieftains of the Kongunadu known as the Getti Mudaliars. Their head quarters were Tharamangalam and Amarakunthi, both these towns are about 20 KM's from Salem town in Tamilnadu. In this temple on top of the inner Praharam I found what looks like a fight between a T-Rex and another Dinosaur. There also seem to be some strange birds, one of them looks like a Dodo. CHANDRA CHOODESHWARAR TEMPLE – HOSUR – KRISHNAGIRI DISTRICT – TAMILNADU On a small hill lock of 250 Ft in the town of Hosur in Krishnagiri district, Tamilnadu about 40 KM’s from Bangaluru,is the temple of Lord Shiva in the form of a Swayambhu Lingam without a proper Avudayar or Pindika known as ChandraChoodeshwarar, with his Consort Goddess Margathambal. Chandra meaning (Moon) Chooda meaning ( Jewel) Eshwar means Lord. Lord, who adorns the Moon as a Jewel. The third crescent of the waxing moon is adorned as the crown jewel by Lord Shiva. The word Maragatham in Tamil means Emarald which is green, signifying the name of the Goddess as Prakrithi or Nature, Greenery or Fertility. DHENUPUREESWARAR TEMPLE - MADAMBAKKAM - CHENNAI Dhenupureeswarar Temple is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Madambakkam near Tambaram,Chennai. (3 KM’s from Rajakizhapakkam).  Lord Shiva in the form of a Swayambhu Lingam(Self manifested Lingam) is known as Dhenupureeswarar, because he gave moksha to Kapila Muni in the form of a Cow (Dhenu or Kamadhenu).The Sage Kapila, is said to have been reborn as a cow for his sin of having improperly worshiped a Shiva Lingam. The sons of Sagara who were on the lookout for the horse found it in the ashram and thought it must have been stolen by sage Kapila. They called Sage Kapila a thief and broke his meditation.  KALABHAIRAVAR TEMPLE - ATHIYAMAAN KOTTAI - DHARMAPURI - TAMILNADU The Adhiyaman kottai or fort was built by King Adhiyaman around the 9th Century AD. He is also known as one of the se ven greatest Kings of Tamilnadu "Kadaiyazhu Vallals” He got an Amla fruit which when eaten would ensure a very long life for the eater. Instead of eating the fruit himself, he gifted the same to Avvaiar, the famous lady Poet saint of Tamilnadu .  The Athiyamaan fort was built in an Oval shape and contained towns and a large lake in order to protect the people from invasion. The fort now appears like a circular mud wall and can be seen in the map. The King belonged to one of the four contemporary dynasties of Tamilnadu namely Athiyamaan, the others being the Chola’s,Chera’s and the Pandya’s. PENNESWARAR TEMPLE - PENNESWARARMAADAM - KRISHNAGIRI DISTRICT - TAMILNADU. Penneswarar Siva temple in the town Penneswarar in Krishnagiri district Tamilnadu,abo ut 3.5 KM's from the Salem Bangaluru highway is an exquisite temple built by Kulothunga Chola the 3rd around 1188 AD after winning a war and is more than 800 years old. The temple also has passed on to the later kingdoms, including,the Hoysala, Vijayanagara,Athiyamaan and so on. Infact the Rajagopuram was built by King Athiyamaan. The Temple has a South entrance with a Rajagopuram, seven tiered, which leads to a huge compound, being the tallest Gopuram in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu. Inside the compound is the inner precinct through which one has to enter the Mukhamandapam perpendicular to the south entrance. PERIANDACHCHI. THE SLEEPING GODDESS. AMARAKUNTHI.SALEM DISTRICT.TAMILNADU. Dakshayani was roaming in the forest alone, Bramha seeing her alone lusted upon her . She ran to her husband Shiva, who cut of the fifth head of Bramha.  Seeing her husband's head cut off, Saraswathi cursed Shiva to roam around the cemetery forgetting about himself. She also cursed Parvathi to become huge and ugly and roam the earth. Parvathi, (on seeing her husband's plight of roaming in the cemetery with a skull in his hand in total forgetfulness)was petrified and in pity went to her brother Mahavishnu and asked him to help them come out of this situation. Lord Vishnu advised her to prepare the best food and make it into three balls and feed the skull with 2 balls and let the third ball rolling down and once the skull came out of the hands of Lord Shiva, he will gain consciousness. Shiva came out of his stupor and after gaining consciousness went back to Kailasa to wait for Dakshayani
